An annual run scheduled for December offers options for participants.
The San Diego Santa Run offers a 5K, a Kids’ Run, and a Dog Run. This is the tenth year for the event, which takes place in the Pacific Beach area of the city. In previous years, the run has drawn as many as 20,000 participants, but the 2022 race could be the biggest yet. This run differs from others because the runners dress as Santa Claus.
The starting line in on Garnet Avenue, and the route leads from there to Cass Street, where runners turn right. There are several mile markers on the course. Participants in the 5K will receive “Santa Swag” including a complimentary ticket for a drink, a custom bib, chip timing, Santa Run Sunglasses, and a Sunny Santa Suit. Those who would like to do so may purchase Candy Cane Socks, or an Additional Sunny Santa Suit for an added charge.
The run date is December 10, with the 5K starting at 9:00 am. The Kids’ Run, which is one mile in length, begins at 11:00 am, and the Dog Run, also a mile in length, begins at 11.30 am. The run will be followed by the Pacific Beach Holiday Parade, beginning at 12:00 pm. Fees are $45 for the 5K, and $30 each for the Dogs’ Mile and Kids’ Mile. When events like these are planned, organizers can use banner printing to create course markers that stand up to outdoor use.
