Surf festival back after year out

The San Clemente Ocean Festival will be returning in 2024 after going on hiatus last year.

This yearly event that happens in the summer at the San Clemente Pier is commonly referred to as the "Greatest Show on Surf." This festival began in 1976 and it celebrates the city's deep connections to its maritime past.

The festival has many athletic competitions, giving room for everyone from experts to beginners to get involved. Events like the 5K beach run, dory boat race, and one-mile ocean swim will challenge participants' strengths and abilities, while also being exciting to watch.

The festival is also focused on family activities. The Kids' Dolphin Dash, a running event made for children, is a popular attraction among the little ones who attend the festival. The Fishing Derby gives kids a chance to learn about fishing in a conducive atmosphere. Sand sculpture contests families the opportunity to bring their respective talents in forming complex sand constructions, introducing an artistic aspect to the festivities.

The festival is planned by a group of volunteers who are committed to making it happen, and all money made from the event goes towards helping community works and local charities. Graphic design can be used to prepare Posters for events like this.

The San Clemente Ocean Festival will be at the San Clemente Pier on July 20 and 21.
