Bob Marley tribute band to rock San Clemente

The New OC Tavern in San Clemente is welcoming a Bob Marley tribute performance from the artist Rascalin this May.

A specialist in both roots reggae and classic rock, by way of Jimi Hendricks, Rascalin grew up in the small Caribbean island of Bocas del Toro, off the coast of Panama. He connected with the guitar at age 14 after experimenting with percussive instruments in his younger years.

Rascalin’s family is originally from Jamaica, Marley’s home country, but moved to Bocas del Toro after multiple generations. Ozzy Osbourne, Randy Rhodes, Peter Tosh, Oscar De Leon, and Van Halen are among Rascalin’s other top influences as a musician.

The independently signed musician said one of his biggest challenges was finding drum and bass musicians who could match the rhythms he heard in his head. Once Rascalin found the perfect lineup for his band, after a four-year search, it inspired him to record more music.

Though Rascalin said he has written hundreds of songs privately, only about 10 originals have been publicly released. His original works include themes of self-reflection and using the good within oneself to overcome humanity’s evil impulses.

Concerts like this may choose to use banner printing to create marquees and vendor Signs.

The Ultimate Bob Marley Tribute featuring Rascalin is performing on Friday, May 15 at 7:00 pm at the New OC Tavern at 2369 S El Camino Real in San Clemente.
