Art historian Jean Stern is set to give a lecture at San Clemente’s Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens later this week.
The event is part of a series, the California Art Club Orange County Chapter Exhibition. In the lecture, Stern will cover the topic of the California Art Club’s impact on the painting scene of Orange County throughout its 115-year old history.
Founded in 1909, the California Art Club is a nonprofit whose aim is to support the education of fine art, from traditional to contemporary. Among the oldest organizations of its kind in the nation, CAC engages in community outreach programs to help keep art alive in the hearts and minds of community members, as well as to bring in a new generation of art lovers along the way.
Stern is an authority on the topic of art in California, as he is the retired Senior Curator of California Impressionism at The University of California, Irvine’s Institute and Museum of California Art. He is also a seasoned lecturer, with experience giving talks on the main stage at the Plein Air Convention over the years.

The Art Lecture with Jean Stern is happening this Thursday, April 2, at 6:00 pm in the main salon of the venue, which is at 415 Avenida Granada in San Clemente.
