San Clemente’s Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens is hosting a performance by Mamboson this August.
The 10-piece band incorporates elements of Latin dance, high-tempo singing, percussion and a full horn section.
This all-ages event not only provides music but an opportunity to dance — even for beginners. The basics of salsa dance will be taught at the event with a lesson from Atomic Ballroom.
Once the dance lesson wraps up, the music kicks off, with Momboson bringing its signature blend of songs that range in genres from Cha-cha to Latin Jazz, Boleros, Merengue, Cumbia and Salsa.
Momboson’s musicians include two lead singers, a bongo player, congas, piano, bass guitar, a trombone, a saxophonist and a trumpet. With this ensemble, the band is able to cover Latin Jazz artists like Cal Tjader, Tito Puente and Pete Escovedo, among others.
Though the table seating tickets are now sold out, there are still general admission tickets available at $15 each, on a first-come, first-served basis.
The concert helps to serve the overall mission of Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens, whose aim is to help bring community members together to celebrate California culture and artistic pursuits.
