The city of San Clemente is inviting everyone, whether local or from out of town, to enjoy a Student Beach Concert. There will be music, dancing, and eating in a family-appropriate environment.
San Clemente High School and Shorecliffs Middle School Jazz Bands are joining together to provide an evening of fun music and entertainment, down at the beach, where the musical tones intermingle with the crashing surf. That will allow those that make themselves present to listen to the sounds, dance to the music, and play volleyball and other games as the afternoon drifts into evening, setting the stage for a barbecue dinner provided by Fisherman’s Restaurant.
The event is part of the ‘Bands in the Sand’ series the city is promoting to encourage local people to enjoy the beach and to patronize establishments nearby. Families that come for the music may want to also bring cameras to capture the memories as they occur for later postcard printing. Music offered by the bands will be family friendly and likely familiar to many, causing some on the beach to burst into song.
The concert will be given north of the San Clemente Pier this Friday, May 29, running from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The event is free, though the meal will cost $8 per person and it will be served right on the beach.
