Next month the San Clemente Chamber of Commerce will be holding its 3rd Annual San Clemente Surf Classic. This competition will be limited to the local youth. The competitive surfing voice of Dave Schulte will be the emcee, and professional surfing judges will be evaluating the heats.
Events will include 11 competitions including short board and long board for boys and girls in under 18, under 16, under 4 and under 12 age divisions. There will also be an open beater board division for girls and boys under 18. Finishers in the top six places in each division will receive trophies. All contestants will be residents of San Clemente.
Registration will be $40 for short and long board heats and $30 for the beater board division. Each participant will receive a competitor jersey. Around 200 participants are expected.
Whenever sporting events are held, it's usual for the organizers and participants to wear custom tees emblazoned the event’s logo.
Banners for this event placed on Avenida Del Mar, scaffoldings at the event, and on the beach will include a Logo Design for each sponsor who has contributed at the $5000, $2,500, $1500 or $250 level. Sponsors will also be passing out information Flyers, free samples and coupons in the sponsor’s tent.
