Local foodies will want to bring their appetites to the San Clemente SeaFest coming early in October.
Fishermans Restaurant will be serving lobster, crab, mussels, and clams on the beach. There will also be an Arts and Crafts Show of handcrafted merchandise from Southern California artisans, and the 19th annual Surf Contest featuring local teens and children.
A business exposition will have booths manned by Chamber of Commerce members who will be passing out Flyers showing their products and services. The event will also feature Children’s Complementary Arts and Crafts and children and teen contests. Some of these include hula hooping, a diaper derby, jumping rope, bubblegum blowing, and tortilla tossing. The U.S. Coast Guard Search and Rescue will have a demonstration.
The famous chowder cook-off will have three categories: business teams, teams composed of individuals along with their family and friends, and local restaurant teams. Guests purchase tickets, taste the entries, and vote for their favorite chowders. Award categories will be Best Tasting Chowder, People’s Choice, and Judges’ Favorite. Judges will also present awards for best decorated individual, restaurant, costume, and table.
The SeaFest will be at the San Clemente Pier, 611 Avenida Victoria, San Clemente on October 2 starting at 9:30 am. The event will close at 3:00 pm.
