The San Clemente Art Association will be presenting its 18th Annual Paint San Clemente in mid-June.
For the Quick Draw Competition on Saturday, June 22nd from 12:30 pm until 3:30 pm, artists will set up their easels along the avenue from the Pier Bowl down along Avenida del Mar. Guests are invited to watch the painting experience as the competitors paint or hand-draw pictures for the competition. The art work will be available for purchase after 4:00 pm at the SC Art Association gallery. Any unsold work will remain for sale until July 26th.
For the Plein Air Painting competition, from June 22 to June 28, artists will be painting local outdoor scenes and can be found anywhere around town and at San Onofre State Beach. At the gala on Saturday, June 29th from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm at the Community Center Auditorium, the artwork will be displayed and winners will be announced. Six thousand dollars in cash prizes will be awarded to the winning artists. Hors d’oeuvres and wine will be served. Tickets will be $25.00 each.
Artists that win events such as these often take pictures of their winning entries to Stationery printers and have them made into Letterheads, stationery or note cards.
Entries will be displayed and available for purchase at the two-day Outdoor Art Exhibition and Sale, Saturday, June 29th and Sunday June 30th on the Community Center Lawn.
Paint San Clemente will be June 22 through June 30th.
