San Clemente will be hosting a Middle School Battle of the Bands next month.
According to organizers, the event is meant to give local students the chance to showcase their musical skills, while also giving friends and supporters the chance to cheer on their buddies.
Bands will each have a 15-minute set to perform their songs. All bands must come with their own equipment and be ready to quickly set up and tear down their instruments. This includes any banner printing or other decorations.
Bands will be judged based on a series of criteria, including audience support, evidence of rehearsals, lyrics and vocals, instrumental performance, originality, and how well the group performs together.
Audience members will be able to watch and cheer on the various event participants. There will also be a slew of other activities available for interested parties, including food, games, and the chance to watch performances on the big screen. At the same time, the event will have a dance floor, so interested individuals will have a chance to not only watch the band, but dance along with the music.
The event will be held on March 11, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, at Vista Hermosa Sports Park, located at 987 Avenida Vista Hermosa in San Clemente. For more information, visit the event listing.
