San Clemente annual Christmas events to return soon

San Clemente has many annual Christmas traditions, including Christmas at the Casa, Downtown Business Association’s Puttin’ On the Glitz, Community Center Holiday Hoopla, Santa’s Village by the Sea, and the Tree Lighting Ceremony. All of these are coming early in December.

The holiday season will begin with the Tree Lighting Ceremony, which is when Santa will trawl down Del Mar on a firetruck. It is also the start of Christmas at the Casa. There will be children’s crafts including writing letters to Santa, and cookies and hot cocoa, live entertainment, and strolling Dickens carolers.

Puttin’ on the Glitz will be downtown, and local businesses will stay open for the evening. Many businesses will have Business Cards available for customers who may want to order custom work later in the season. Live music will add to the holiday ambience. Cinderella carriages and train rides will be available.

At the Community Center Holiday Hoopla, children may visit with Santa, go sledding on a snow hill, play holiday games, do some cookie decorating, and watch an outdoor movie.

Santa will arrive and light the town Christmas tree at 5:00 pm, and Christmas at the Casa will run from 5:00 pm until 7:30 pm this Saturday, December 1st at Avenida Del Mar.

Also on Saturday , Putting’ on the Glitz downtown and Community Center Holiday Hoopla at 100 N Calle Seville will run from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
