Many people ride a bike regularly without any proper training on how to do it safely, which is why a bike safety course is being organized in San Clemente.
Cyclists face a unique set of hazards when they are on the roads. With cycling becoming more and more popular among the upcoming generation, the need for road safety courses tailored to cyclists becomes increasingly important.
This class on how to be safe while cycling on the road is being organized by a partnership between the Orange County Sherriff’s Department and the Beaches, Parks & Recreational Department. May is the official Bike Safety Month, which makes it the perfect time to host an event that reminds motorists and cyclists how to share the roads and reduce the chances of accidents, and how obeying the traffic laws and respecting everyone’s right to be on the road can help towards this. The bike safety rodeo will be at the Vista Hermosa Sports Park on Thursday, May 26, beginning at 3:15 pm, and is open to children aged five years and older. There is no charge, although attendees must pre-register in advance in order to ensure spacing. Children between the ages of five and eight years old must have a guardian or parent attend with them.
