The Community Outreach Alliance (COA) in San Clemente will give away free food next month. The charity is called Food Connection and is aimed at families in need.
COA was established in 2014 to assist communities around San Clemente. The organization was initially created to support at-risk youths, but its efforts also extend to all members of the community. COA’s activities involve a variety of programs, which are typically supported with poster printing. Food Connection is one such program COA offers, and it looks to provide free groceries to families struggling financially.
The charity takes place twice every month, and families can benefit without sign-up or identification. At the event, COA will work with volunteers to support those in need of help. Due to the COVID-19 situation, volunteers will follow social distancing to ensure everyone’s safety. Also, anyone interested in participating as a volunteer can sign up at COA’s website. After signing a volunteer waiver, participants can work with COA for future Food Connection events.
Food Connection occurs on the second and fourth Mondays of every month, meaning February 8 and 22 are the dates for next month, and each event will run from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. The event will take place at the San Clemente Baha’I Center. COA also accepts donations, which go towards supporting Food Connection.
