Moon Jogger’s “Race Through America” series will start in California. Residents from Orange County cities like San Clemente and Irvine are encouraged to join.
The virtual run will take place through 2021 and 2022, with each month featuring a new state. Each participant is expected to complete the race by choosing their own course and start time. There are several different options runners can pursue, including one-mile, 5K, 10K, 13.1-, 26.2-, and 50-mile races.
Runners are expected to record how long their runs take, and they can register their times with Race Through America afterwards. Also, upon completing the race, participants will receive a medal and bib. These items will ship to each runner two to five hours after they sign up. A fifth of registration fees will go towards Feeding America. The organization provides meals for families in need of food. Currently, 200 food banks across the country work with Feeding America to give hunger relief. Participants also have the option to donate directly to the organization.
The event will start at the beginning of January, and runners can complete the race anytime during the month. The registration fee for the run is $24, which covers the cost of the medal and bib. Signup can be arranged online.
