Masters of the fairway will want to attend the upcoming Friends of San Clemente Beaches, Parks & Recreation Foundation’s fourth annual golf tournament.
Some of the proceeds from this event will go to scholarships for recreational programs and classes such as dance, skateboarding, surfing, swimming, and drama. For those who don’t want to play but still want to attend the event and the awards dinner, the fee is $30.
The format will be a four-person scramble with a ‘shotgun’ start. Prizes will be awarded throughout the tournament. Prizes for the second and thirteenth holes will be awarded to those who get closest to the holes. A fifth hole prize will be awarded for longest drive, while hole-nine will feature a contest for anyone who can “Beat the Pro”. Three Counties Insurance is sponsoring an award for a hole-in-one on the fifteenth hole. The prize on the eighteenth will be for the closest second shot.
Awards will be presented at the dinner catered by Wedgewood Barbeque Buffet. Platinum and diamond sponsors will need to get their logos and information to the committee soon, to allow time for banner printing.
The tournament is scheduled for Friday, June 27th, at the San Clemente Municipal Golf Course. A putting contest and registration will run from 10:30am to 12:15pm. The shotgun will start at 12:30pm, while dinner begins at 5:30pm.
