Diverse performer to make San Clemente stop

San Clemente music lovers looking for something different this time of year may want to attend an upcoming concert by Ann Hampton Callaway.

Callaway is a multiplatinum selling artist best known for writing and singing the theme song for the television show ‘The Nanny’.

Callaway’s performance will include a litany of songs, some of which she has written herself. Her style ranges from blues, to jazz, to traditional pop.

Callaway has also written some songs made famous by Barbara Streisand and will be singing some of them at her show as well. She also starred in the Broadway musical Swing and will be offering some tunes from that show, too. Other tunes will be selections from the great American Songbook.

The singer is also known for her interaction with those attending her concerts, sometimes asking for words and making up a song on the spot. She will accompany herself on piano for some selections as well. The evening will also include dinner and a live auction.

Those who plan to attend would be well advised to have business card printing done beforehand for sharing with other local patrons.

The concert will be held Friday, March 11, at the Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Garden, 415 Avenida Granada, in the Main Salon, San Clemente, starting at 7:00 pm. General admission will be $165, with VIP seating $250.
