City holds its second largest festival

San Clemente will hold its second largest festival, the Ohana Festival, at the end of September.

The three-day event will feature three stages offering more than 35 performances. The first day will have 14 artists during the day and end with Kings of Leon. On Saturday, the lineup will include Maggie Rogers, Mac Demarco, the Frames, Gang of Youths, Inhaler, and Eddie Vedder. Sunday’s line up will have another 14 performers ending with Pretenders and Pearl Jam.

Fans of these groups can purchase official Promotional Products and festival merchandise sporting the event’s graphic design at the specified tents.

Local and regional vendors will be hawking foods including gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options. There will be plenty of concessions and free water stations.

VIP weekend passes include a shuttle pass, commemorative beach bag, towel, bracelet and other festival essentials. Some other benefits include shaded hammocks, lounge seating and cabanas. Passes also will offer complimentary gourmet bites, acai-bowls, beverages, and ice cream.

Shuttles will be running from Outlets at San Clemente, 101 E. Avenida Vista Hermosa 11:00 am. The last one will depart from the main entrance of the festival 45 minutes after the festival closes.

Proceeds will go to maintaining and preserving our state’s coastal parks.

Ohana Festival will take place from September 25 through 27 at Dana Point’s Doheny State Beach, 25300 Park Lantern, Dana Point. The event opens at noon.
