Charity tournament invites players
A pickleball tournament happening in California hopes to raise funds to support research on rare genetic disorders, while giving people an active way to start 2025.
The Compete 4 Cures Pickleball Tournament charity event invites players of all levels who enjoy the game to compete while supporting a significant cause for the community. Proceeds will go to Global Genes, a nonprofit dedicated to funding research and programs for the rare disease community. With all funds raised directed to Global Genes, the tournament aims to advance initiatives that assist individuals and families impacted by rare and genetic disorders.
The day will open at 9:00 AM with player registration and warm-up activities, leading into the official start of the tournament at 10:00 AM. A total of 128 competitors will take part in the event, which features three skill-based categories: Social (3.5 and below), Competitive (4.0), and Elite (4.5 and above). Participants may register with a chosen partner or opt to be paired with another player, encouraging camaraderie among both seasoned players and newcomers. More information for upcoming events can be shared using flyer printing.
The $200 fee covers all the aspects related to an individual's registration. Each entrant gets an event shirt, one drink ticket, and a giveaway bag. Friends and family members can purchase additional lunch tickets for $25.
The Compete 4 Cures Pickleball Tournament will return on January 1, 2025, at Life Time Rancho San Clemente.
