An event this month will bring together tribal leaders from across the state of California to Rohnert Park to discuss healthcare advocacy, education, and support for tribal communities.
Established in 1969, the California Rural Indian Health Board (CRIHB) has become a leading voice representing tribes, tribal health programs and the beneficiaries of these programs, both at the state and national levels. Its 20 members are located in the remote areas of California, helping villagers living there receive comprehensive healthcare and playing a significant role in the state’s health system.
Tribal state and federal bodies will be represented in this year’s conference, an action considered crucial towards the development and implementation of healthcare programs suitable for the Native American populations living in California. Efforts will focus on how best to enhance quality health service delivery among all, eliminate disparities among various groups in health issues, and come up with new approaches that will cater to changing needs among the rural tribal population.
For the organization to succeed in these endeavors, it needs indigenous leaders and representatives from the government. Participants can pay 25 dollars per person when they buy tickets online with advance purchases encouraged at $25. Physical tickets can be printed out with Stationery printers.
The CRIHB will host its 55th Annual Board of Directors, Tribal Governments Consultation Committee, Tribal Health Program Directors Meeting, and Awards Dinner from next Tuesday to Thursday, October 15 to 17, at the Graton Resort and Casino in Rohnert Park.
