Rohnert Park to host puppet show

Children and families in the Rohnert Park area are getting excited for the Magical Moonshine Theatre’s presentation of The Golden Armadillo Interactive Puppet Show. The multilingual, participatory performance is geared towards audiences three and up.

The Magical Moonshine Theatre troupe was first started in 1979 by Michael and Valerie Nelson. Michael studied at the International Puppetry Institute, and Valerie is an educator who studied the Montessori Method. Together, they worked to form a brand of puppetry that was interactive and educational, using giant puppets, masks, and more. Since then, their work has become internationally recognized, performed in fifteen different countries and eight languages.

The story of the Golden Armadillo is set in Old Mexico and follows a beautiful daughter of a local mayor who never smiles, until fate and circumstance conspire to show her a hilarious surprise. The show gets the audience involved in the proceedings, playing parts and getting in on the action in both English and Spanish. No prior acting experience is needed and attendees do not need any special knowledge of Spanish to participate.

The Golden Armadillo Interactive Puppet Show will be performed on March 23 from 11:00 am to noon at the Rohnert Park Cotati Regional Library. Admission to the event is free, but pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Anyone interested in more information should check the Flyers or contact the library directly.
