Grammy-winning string quartet to enchant Rohnert Park

Rohnert Park’s Green Music Center is hosting a performance by the Juilliard String Quartet, featuring Simone Dinnerstein, this fall.

The foursome of Molly Car, Astrid Schween, Areta Zhulla, and Leonard Fu make up the globally recognized string ensemble known for bringing to light the annals of historic compositions written specifically for the musical format.

The Juilliard String Quartet holds a legacy of more than half a century, with four Grammy Award wins and more than a dozen other nominations since 1961, featuring a rotating lineup of musicians that gets refreshed every few years.

Pianist Simone Dinnerstein, who herself nabbed a Grammy nomination for Best Classical Instrumental Solo in 2022 for the track “An American Mosaic,” is joining the Juilliard String Quartet, in part to helm the concert’s grand finale, Robert Schumann’s “Piano Quintet in E-flat major, Op. 44.”

Leading up to that sendoff, the set begins with Maurice Ravel’s “String Quartet in F major,” followed up by “Béla Bartók’s String Quartet No. 4, Sz. 91, BB 95.”
