Volunteer opportunity with Stop Hunger Now event

Stop Hunger Now, an organization working provide an end to hunger on an international level, is teaming with the Lynnewood United Methodist Church in Pleasanton with hopes to package another 10,000 meals for people around the world.

Credited with gathering sometimes over a million meals a week, the organization, has serviced over 70 countries and approximately 88% of all expenses fund the meal programs. The organization relies on corporate, educational, and civic volunteers to help support the large efforts that Stop Hunger Now undertakes. Businesses could get involved by helping to raise additional funds by supplying Promotional Products for any donations made by employees and customers during the fundraising drive.

Stop Hunger Now is always looking for volunteers and events such as this one in Pleasanton are held nationwide. Those interested in helping out but unable to attend a meal packing event can make donations or join the movement by hosting fundraising dinner parties. Companies and individuals may also contact the organization to learn how to host their own meal packing event.

The Pleasanton event will take place on Saturday, November 5 at the Lynnewood United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, which is located at 4444 Black Avenue. All ages are welcome, although children of elementary school age need to be accompanied by a parent. Volunteers should arrive in time to begin packing at 9:00 am.
