The Harrington Gallery at Pleasanton’s Firehouse Arts Center is presenting a flower-themed art exhibit this winter.
Flora in Focus is a 90-piece show featuring 13 artists from the Pleasanton area. The participating artists work with a variety of materials, including gouache, oil paint, watercolor, acrylic, glass, East Asian brush painting, and colored pencil. Meghana Mitragotri, who organized the show, is a watercolorist. Mitragotri personally selected and invited the other participants, all of whom have supported her artistic journey.
There will be a reception in the middle of the exhibit’s schedule, where attendees can meet the artists and enter raffles. Light refreshments will be served. Artists often have Business Cards available for those interested in purchasing their work. Cindy Ting and her students will have collaborative ikebana (traditional Japanese flower arranging) pieces on display the week of the reception.
Eight of the artists will also be giving talks and live art demonstrations. These will take place on Saturdays throughout the show. The schedule is available on the Firehouse Arts Center website. Admission to the Harrington Gallery is free. The exhibit will be open Wednesdays through Fridays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Saturdays from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Flora in Focus will be open at the Harrington Gallery from Saturday, January 10 to Saturday, March 7. The reception will take place on Saturday, January 31 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
