Pleasanton area group to celebrate student innovation

Innovation Tri-Valley (ITV) is currently reviewing submissions for its 16th annual Dreammakers and Risktakers Awards.

ITV asked for nominations for students working on creative, innovative ideas and projects that reflect an interest in making a positive contribution to their communities. The theme for this year's awards is “Tech Innovation for Good.” ITV and partnering school districts are currently reviewing submissions, and the winners will be announced on October 30.

Tickets for the awards ceremony are available to the general public now for $87.21 for ITV partners and $92.55 for all others. Tickets include a continental breakfast. Children 12 and older are welcome, and families and educators are encouraged to attend. Guests will have opportunities to meet with the students and local business leaders. Organizers often work with graphic design experts to create social media promotions for this type of youth-focused event.

ITV works to support and expand the Tri-Valley region, which includes Pleasanton and four other towns, as a hub for business, research and leadership. The Dreammakers and Risktakers Awards are a key part of the group’s efforts to attract and retain local talent. The program recognizes students in the Tri-Valley’s public school districts, the Tri-Valley Regional Occupational Program and Las Positas College.

The Dreammakers and Risktakers Awards will be on Thursday, November 12, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, at Shannon Community Center in nearby Dublin.
