The Mithil Prasad Foundation will hold a virtual paint night. The event is open to anyone living in Pleasanton.
The foundation is a non-profit organization looking for a cure for Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a deadly brain tumor. The foundation hopes to raise awareness and funding to combat the disease.
The paint night will be presented by Mithil Prasad's new youth chapter in Pleasanton. At the event, adults and children will paint and enjoy a night of performances and speakers. Before the event, organizers will also have a painting workshop for children in grades one to three. The workshop gives children a chance to practice before the actual event.
Each participant will receive a kit through delivery after they sign up. The kits include a canvas, paint, and information on who the participant is painting for. Print shops can be used for events like these to produce some of the materials. All paintings created during the event will be collected and distributed to children with DIPG.
The paint night will happen on May 16 between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. A Zoom link will be sent to participants before the event starts. Paint kits for the event are $25. The children's workshop kits are $30. Anyone interested in donating can also leave $10 when registering on the foundation’s website.
