Summer block party takes over Pleasantons Main Street

Pleasanton is hosting a Downtown Block Party this summer as part of its First Weekends on Main event series.

The Downtown Pleasanton Association will be shutting down Main Street to provide space for vendors and live music. Vendors will include a range of local businesses, nonprofits and city agencies. Nonprofits and government agencies often use brochure printing services to provide information about their programming for visitors to their tables at this type of event.

Some of the former members of the band Tommy and the 4 Speeds will perform from 12 pm to 2 pm. Tommy and the 4 Speeds played a variety of 1950s and 60s rock music, and one of its last performances during the 2008 Concert in the Park series drew a crowd of several thousand.

The festival is free to attend and suitable for all ages. Main Street will be closed from Saturday morning to Sunday evening, so attendees should plan their routes accordingly. The vendor application is open now for businesses and organizations interested in participating. Booths will not have access to electricity. Vendor fees vary depending on the type of business or organization. The First Weekends series will continue in August. Details are available on Downtown Pleasanton’s website.

The Downtown Block Party will take place on Main Street in downtown Pleasanton on Saturday, July 6 from 11 am to 3 pm.
