Pleasanton to host annual summer festival
The Alameda County Fair is returning to Pleasanton this June.
The three-week-long festival includes food and other vendors, carnival rides, outdoor movie screenings, wine tastings, and other entertainment. Specific activities include a petting zoo, pig races, pony rides, evening drone and fireworks shows, and competitions for artists, gardeners, and cooks. Wine Fest, which requires a separate ticket and includes unlimited tastings, will take place on Saturday, June 28. There will also be a concert each night. The full schedule and music lineup are available online.
Restaurants, artists, and retail businesses can apply as vendors on the Alameda County Fair website. Vendors often use banner printing services to promote their businesses at this type of event. Artists and crafters can apply for the Maker’s Market area, which does not require the vendor to be open for the entire event. The fair also hires seasonal employees. Those interested can apply on the website.
General admission tickets are $17.60 if purchased in advance or $19.80 if purchased during the fair. Discounts are available for children and seniors and for everyone on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Season passes and ride wristbands are also available for purchase. The daily parking fee is $13 in advance or $15 on site.
The Alameda County Fair runs from June 13 through July 6 on Wednesdays to Sundays from noon to 11:00 pm.
