Pleasanton pianist to play at local arts center

A local young pianist is hosting a concert at the Firehouse Arts Center in Pleasanton this September.

Minna Fu has won a number of awards and received several performance diplomas, most recently from the Fellowship of the Royal Schools of Music with distinction in performance. She has received first prize at international contests like the Pacific International Piano Competition and the Chopin International Piano Competition, as well as those closer to home like the Diablo Symphony Orchestra Yen Liang Young Artists Competition. The teenager has performed at private events, fundraisers and music festivals. She also posts piano videos on her YouTube channel.

During the recital, Fu will play a selection of pieces composed by Beethoven, Price, Chopin, and Stravinsky. The show will last around 90 minutes, and all attendees are invited to a reception afterwards. Arts centers often use professional poster printing services to promote their events.

Admission to the concert is free, though attendees are encouraged to make a donation to Music for Minors II, a Fremont-based nonprofit that places trained volunteers in elementary school classrooms to help students develop their interest and skills in music. Fu began volunteering with the group in 2022.

Minna Fu’s 7th Annual Piano Recital will take place on Sunday, September 29 at 3:00 pm at Firehouse Arts Center in Pleasanton.
