The Pleasanton Community of Character Collaborative is hosting its 6th annual Summer BBQ Fundraiser this August.
The dinner event will raise money for the Juanita Huagen Scholarship fund, which awards college scholarships at three high schools in Pleasanton Unified School District. All seniors are invited to apply for scholarships, and recipients are selected based on their demonstrated character and commitment to volunteering in the community.
Tickets are available online now. The cost is $100 per person or $850 per table of ten. Members of the Community of Character Collaborative board have donated the cost of the meal to allow more of the proceeds to go toward the scholarship fund. The dinner menu includes tri-tip steak, corn with brown butter, salad, baked beans and dessert. There will also be several vegetarian options. Wine, beer and soft drinks are included. Rusty Vinyl, a local electric classic rock group, will perform.
The Pleasanton Community of Character Collaborative is a nonprofit organization that works to promote compassion, honesty, self-discipline, responsibility, integrity and respect throughout the community, including in individuals, families and organizations. It has designated many local businesses and nonprofits that have committed to these values as organizations of character. Nonprofits often use brochure printing services to provide information about their work.
The Summer BBQ Fundraiser will take place on Saturday, August 16 at 5 pm.
