Pleasanton fairgrounds to host traveling train show

The Great Train Show is visiting the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton this December.

The show is dedicated to model trains and has activities appropriate for any level of interest in the hobby. Attendees can visit vendors, attend workshops and view large displays. The event is appropriate for all ages, and there will kid-friendly activities including train rides and a Thomas the Tank Engine bounce house. Workshop topics will include using digital controls and constructing realistic models and displays.

Vendors will have a variety of items for sale, including both new and vintage model trains, tools, T-Shirts, and Books. More than 250 vendors are schedule to attend the Pleasanton show. Attendees are also welcome to bring models they are interested in selling. Organizers often use printing services to create Signs for their events.

Tickets purchased at the door cost $13 for Saturday and $12 for Sunday, which needs to be paid in cash. Saturday tickets include admission to both days of the show. There will be a $1 discount for tickets purchased online. Kids 11 and younger can attend for free. Parking at the fairgrounds is $15. Attendees should enter through the security gate, not the yellow gate.

The Great Train Show Pleasanton will take place on Saturday, December 7 and Sunday, December 8 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Alameda County Fairgrounds.
