Pleasanton education group to host annual race

The Pleasanton Partnerships in Education Foundation (PPIE) is holding its 13th Annual Run for Education this spring.

The run will include four events. There will be a quarter-mile fun run for kids ages three to ten, as well as two-mile, 5K and 10K races. The two-mile and 5K events are open to runners and walkers. Parents can complete the 5K with kids in strollers. The 10K has a one hour and 45-minute time cutoff, so it is open to runners only. The 10K will start at 7:50 am, the 5K and two-mile races at 8:00 am, and the kids run at 9:15 am. Participants can pick up their race packets the day before from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Amador Valley High School or on the morning of race day.

Online registration is open now. The cost is $48.70 for the 5K and 10K, $43.40 for the two-mile event and $22.20 for the kids' challenge. These are early bird rates that will increase after March 11. Discounts are available for school district employees, and students can enter the 5K for free. All participants will receive a short-sleeve race T-shirt. Groups often use Graphic Design Services to create shirts for their races and other events.

The Pleasanton Run for Education will take place on Sunday, April 27 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds.
