Pleasanton art gallery to offer special exhibit

Pleasanton’s Firehouse Arts Center is running a special exhibit focused on life’s transitions this October.

Transitions: The Beauty of Life’s Journey features 20 artists’ interpretations of the transitional aspects of life and nature. This includes works that show the changes in landmarks over time, changes across times and seasons, and works that symbolically depict life changes. All 20 artists are nationally known California natives. They use a range of media that includes oil, pastel, and watercolor. The exhibition was put together by guest curator Ellen Howard. It is part of the Harrington Gallery, which is open to the public at no cost.

Two of the artists will be performing live demonstrations in October. Nancy Seamons Crookston will do a demonstration on Saturday, October 8, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Paul Kratter will do a demonstration on Saturday, October 15, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. The full list of participating artists is available on the Firehouse Arts Center website. Those interested can also visit the website for information on upcoming exhibits. The Harrington Gallery rotates through seven group exhibits each year. Art galleries often have Business Cards available for visitors to take.

The exhibit is available now through Saturday, October 22. The Harrington Gallery is open Wednesdays through Fridays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturdays from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
