Livermore Valley set to showcase area wines and food

The Taste our Terroir food and wine festival is taking place next month for four days at various Livermore Valley locations.

There will be at least 19 winemakers and Bay Area chefs on hand to showcase the best of their offerings. There will be four days of seminars, cooking classes and award presentations.

The festival starts off with the Quest for Pairing Excellence at Casa Real on July 21 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. The participating chefs will be competing for People’s Choice and judge’s awards. Tickets are $85 each and $95 after July 14; VIP tickets are $125 and allow early admission.

The next day will involve several events including the Chomped mystery challenge at Whole Foods. Four participating restaurants and four wineries will be matched and will have to prepare a meal from a basket of ingredients; wineries will be allowed to bring three different wines to pair with the finished meal.

Other activities will include a progressive dinner, a lobster feed and a seminar about wine and chocolate pairings.

These delicious events expect to attract residents from nearby Pleasanton and surrounding areas. Most events require printed tickets for purchase, and a local Stationery printing company is always willing to help.

The Taste our Terroir event will be held from July 21 to 21. The price of event tickets varies and various packages are available for sale. For more information about planned events, call 925-447-9463.
