The public library in Pleasanton will offer lawyer consultation to anyone living in the city, with an event titled Lawyer in the Library.
The event is sponsored by the Alameda County Bar Association, which provides volunteer lawyers to speak at libraries in the county. Anyone interested can sign up for an appointment, and the consultation allows for 15 to 20 minutes of interaction with the lawyer. Entrants can ask about a variety of different topics, including landlord-tenant relationships, employment issues, or more general consumer problems they might be facing. Organizers require that entrants ask questions related to topics in Almeda County.
Each participant must also fill a short intake form and a limited scope agreement. These Forms can be returned to the library through email, mail, or drop-off by noon of the event day. Print shops are often employed to produce the documents needed for the event. On the day of the event, entrants will receive a call from an attorney who will provide them with assistance.
Tuesday, January 19, is the date of the event, and calls will happen between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM on the evening. The session is free, and entrants just need to register online on Pleasanton Library’s website. The short intake form and limited scope agreement can also be downloaded from the site.
