The Pleasanton Firehouse Art Center is currently showing the 47th Annual National Exhibition by the California Watercolor Association in its Harrington Gallery.
Located at Railroad Avenue in Pleasanton, California, the exhibit features eighty pieces of art created by artists from cross the country. The event will also include a number of painting demonstrations offered by the members of the CWA, and will continue through mid-February.
Many artists use gallery appearances to boost their professional profile, appearing with custom Business Cards that offer a web address, or a site where enthusiasts can purchase a Print of their favorite piece.
The Harrington Gallery, according to the East Bay Times, has hosted the CWA event three times previously. There is no particular theme to the event, although there is a strong water connection for the works chosen. The selected pieces are organized by Julie Finegan, the Visual and Literary Arts Coordinator for the Gallery. Works by artists like Eileen Mueller-Neill and Geoffrey McCormack will be on display.
CWA members hosting painting demonstrations will include Pat Moseuk, Ruth Miller, Sue Johnson, Steven Berry, and Mary Ciofalo. The gallery exhibition opened on January 14 with a reception from 1pm to 3pm, and will run until February 25. For complete gallery hours and directions, as well as more information on the painting demonstrations, please visit the Firehouse Arts Center website.
