Craft Makers Studio works to make calligraphy flower across Pleasanton

The Craft Maker's Studio, located in Pleasanton, hopes to bring appreciation of the art of calligraphy back to California's Bay Area, and has put together a busy schedule for this year.

The studio space has already scheduled multiple calligraphy lessons and workshops on its 2018 calendar, aimed at teens and adults. These events are held in co-operation with local craft business Paperloveme Calligraphy, which provides both materials and expert instruction. Learners of any age will learn what the proper equipment is, how to use it, and how to make their writing look elegant and effortless in a way rarely seen amid today’s world of word procession and on-screen communication.

Calligraphy can provide a classy or artistic touch for projects ranging from Letterheads to Banners. Inspired students may wish to check out their local art supply or printing store for more materials or inspiration.

Those interested who missed the first event on January 14 need not worry, as a second installment, focusing on the use of watercolor with calligraphy, is scheduled for February 3.

Founded by local artist Rocio Sofia Ordonoz, Craft Maker's Studio provides a space for artistic workshops and explorations in the Tri-Valley area. In addition to calligraphy, seminars are available in paperwork, embroidery, and more. The Studio also hosts birthday and wedding parties for those with an arty personality.
