Consumers are encouraged to shop small in Pleasanton

The Small Business Saturday and Downtown Open House is taking place this month in Pleasanton, presented by the Pleasanton Downtown Association.

Small Business Saturday was begun by the Shop Small movement. It is held every year on Thanksgiving weekend and encourages customers to shop at small local stores rather than national big box stores.

Over 20 downtown businesses will be participating this year in Pleasanton. They will be offering special sales to those who stop by their stores. In addition, most of them will be handing out freebies such as Shopping Bags, pet bandanas, stickers, and Pens.

Small Business Saturday gives the public the opportunity to support their local economy and to learn that there is an alternative to shopping at national chain stores.

For the kids who will be starting to get excited about Christmas, there will be free photos with Santa at the Museum on Main Street from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

The participating stores will likely be working with their favorite Pleasanton Print company to design and create the Promotional Products that they will be handing out to customers. The investment pays off in passive advertising.

Small Business Saturday and Downtown Open House will be held on November 25 beginning at 9:00 AM. For more information about participating stores, contact the Pleasanton Downtown Association at 925-484-2199.
