Car show welcomes the summer

The 23rd annual Summer Get Together is taking place in Pleasanton next month for two days. The event is a car show hosted by the Goodguys Rod and Custom Association.

The show is expected to feature approximately 2,500 American-made hot rods, trucks, and muscle cars. Registration is available at the event for $50 for Goodguys members, or $65 for nonmembers for both days, and $30 or $40 for Sunday only. The cars will be competing for a number of awards.

There will also be a swap meet, a custom bicycle exhibit, a dragster exhibition, and a craft beer garden. There is set to be a Cars 4 Sale corral, live musical entertainment, and an autocross race.

More than 100 vendors will be on hand and will probably include businesses selling auto-related merchandise, artists and organizations providing information about their programs and services.

This two-day event will no doubt attract car lovers from Pleasanton and surrounding communities. To help spread the word, local flyer printing companies may be asked to provide marketing materials.

The Summer Get Together will be held at the Alameda County Fairgrounds from June 4 to 5 beginning at 8:00 AM each day. Tickets are $17 in advance or $20 at the gate and $6 for children between the ages of 7 and 12. For more information, contact the Goodguys Rod and Custom Association at 925-838-9876.
