Palm Desert’s McCallum Theatre is hosting Jim Caruso’s Cast Party this May.
This partially-improvised variety show mixes together established stars in show business with up-and-coming performers, originating from a weekly show for Manhattan’s Birdland Jazz Club since 2003.
Now the show, which has been acclaimed by outlets like the Wall Street Journal and The New York Times, is coming to Palm Desert.
Marking Cast Party’s sixth appearance at the McCallum, this latest iteration will feature Billy Stritch on Piano, singer-songwriter Ann Hampton Callaway, Star Search Grand Champion Nita Whitaker, American Idol contestant Ava Nicole Francis and Ruby Lewis, star of Marilyn! The New Musical!
In addition, a surprise guest star will also make an appearance.
With the glitz and glamour of Broadway and a touch of spontaneity, the evening will begin with hors d’oeuvres and drinks in the Grand Lobby before the performance take to the stage.
As for Caruso, he isn’t merely an MC, but an accomplished musician himself. He recently released a deluxe version of his album The Swing Set, which includes bonus songs and an overall enhanced production quality.
Musical events like this may choose to use Print shops to create informational pamphlets, musical lineup Flyers and set lists.
Jim Caruso’s Cast Party is performing on May 7 at 7 pm at the McCallum Theatre at 73000 Fred Waring Dr in Palm Desert.
