Clue Live on Stage is coming to the McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert this February.
The murder mystery, which takes place in a mansion, is inspired by the board game Clue, and the 1985 movie of the same name, including all the classic tropes associated with it. That includes a gallery of colorful characters, any one of whom may be the prime suspect, such as Mrs. Peacock and Colonel Mustard.
In the same tradition as the game, audiences will have to decipher by way of process of elimination who the prime suspect is, what weapon was used (such as a knife or wrench), and in what location within the Boddy Manor mansion (like the library or the study) the crime took place. Incorporating elements of both comedy and mystery, the narrative is full of twists and turns.
The play was written by Sany Rustin with additional material by Hunter Foster and Eric Price, and was based on the original movie screenplay by Jonathan Lynn. It features fast-paced dialogue full of one-liners, slapstick, and parody elements. Theatrical performances like this may choose to use banner printing to create vendor Signs, marquees, and set decorations.
Clue Live on Stage is happening from February 25 through March 1, with a variety of evening and matinee shows to choose from, at the McCallum Theatre at 7300 Fred Waring Drive in Palm Desert.
