The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens in Palm Desert will be holding an educational camp in April for budding naturalists.
The Spring ZooCamp is an informative program where children can get behind-the-scenes access to the zoo. There will be two age groups at the camp, and each group will be part of a different activity. Children aged 5-7 will experience the Folklore & Fairytales program, while kids who are 8-10 will participate in Conservation Story-Telling. A maximum of 12 campers will be allowed in each camp.
The Folklore & Fairytales group will get to go on an adventure to hear global stories about animals, tricksters, and heroes. Kids may meet a few of the characters they learn about and create their own stories. The Conservation Story-Telling camp will use role-playing and story-related activities to share triumphant conservation tales with children. Participants can also learn about the people involved with conservation, and may see an animal star.
The Spring ZooCamp program will be held from Monday, April 18 to Friday, April 22. Each camping session will last from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Those with a membership to the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens can pay $205, while non-members must pay $230. Zoos offering camping experiences such as this may use poster printing to promote their seasonal programs to visiting families.
