The Artists Council will host multiple workshops in Palm Desert that teach aspiring artists the basics of drawing.
Drawing Your Way is a program where budding artists can grow their drawing skills with the help of a professional instructor. The course will teach attendees about basic pencil techniques, the elements of design, and art principles. Students are required to bring their own drawing pad or journal to the event. Participants can also bring basic drawing pencils, kneaded erasers, and black Pens. The instructor is Sharon Perica, an artist with over 30 years of teaching art workshops.
The Artists Council is an independent organization that promotes the artists of Coachella Valley and hosts several types of events. The programs offered by the group include book clubs, business-of-art classes, and social gatherings. Students can become a member of the council for $37.50, and individual memberships cost $75. The current board chair of the organization is Carlos Garcia, and Thomas Burns is the group’s executive director.
Those interested in participating in Perica’s drawing series can pay $72. Discounted rates for the workshop are available for those who are students or members of The Artists Council.
