Palm Desert theatre to hold choreography festival

The McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert will be hosting a choreography fest in November.

The Palm Desert Choreography Festival is a two-day event where choreographers can compete for cash prizes. The first day of the program will feature choreographers who have created a routine for professional dancers aged 18 and up. The grand prize for this part of the festival is $10,000, and the second-place prize is $5,000. The following day of the fest is for choreographers who work with dancers of all ages. The grand prize for this division is $3,000, and the second-place award is $1,500.

Those who participate in the festival are allowed to submit work for one or both of the divisions. The choreography with professional dancers cannot exceed 11 minutes, and the second division's choreography must not exceed seven minutes. People are also allowed to enter multiple submissions to the fest. The finalists picked for the event will perform in front of a general audience and panel of judges.

The Palm Desert Choreography Festival will be held on Saturday, November 11 at 7:00 pm and Sunday, November 12 at 4:00 pm. Tickets to spectate the event range from $55 to $84, depending on which part of the theater guests choose to sit. Performance venues such as this may promote their shows to the public by using banner printing services.
