Palm Desert saves the date for Gladys Knight
Gladys Knight, one of the most revered iconic performers, is coming to the Palm Desert area this fall.
The performance, originally scheduled for March and postponed, has been rebooked at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino with a new date.
Dubbed “the queen of soul,” Knight has dozens of number one hits in various genres including gospel, R&B, contemporary, and pop. She is a seven-time Grammy Award winner as well.
Her classics include “Midnight Train to Georgia,” “If I Were Your Woman,” and “I Heard it Through the Grapevine,” later recorded by Marvin Gaye. Formerly the lead singer of Gladys Knight and the Pips from the 1960s through the 1980s, Knight was ranked by Rolling Stone as one of the top 100 greatest singers of all time.
