Palm Desert offers family soccer class

The Palm Desert Community Center will be holding two soccer lessons in July for toddlers and their parents.

Parent & Me Soccer is a program organized by the Desert Recreation District where families can have a fun experience together while working on their basic soccer skills. The activity is designed to help children improve their motor and social skills by using obstacle courses and fun games. The topics covered in the soccer class include how to participate in games independently and follow instructions from coaches. Kids will also learn about playing with peers with minimal assistance.

The Desert Recreation District is an organization that has been offering services throughout the Greater Coachella Valley for more than 70 years. The recreation group has received several awards, such as Innovative Program of the Year from the California Special Districts Association and the Sustainability Award from Riverside County. The types of programs offered by the organization include therapeutic sports, senior activities, and community events.

The family soccer lessons will take place on Tuesday, July 5 and Tuesday, July 26 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. The class will be held in the Community Center Gymnasium. Children in the course must be aged 2-4. Recreational departments that organize family activities such as this can use flyer printing to advertise their athletic events to local households in advance.
