Palm Desert will hold its largest food festival in October at The Shops at Palm Desert.
The Yum Food Fest and Night Market is a two-day experience where people can gather and enjoy food from many food trucks. The event will also include cultural vendors, live music, and a beer garden. The venue even has a designated space for kids. There will be vegan and vegetarian options available at the food festival. Most of the participating businesses accept card payments, though some only accept cash.
The organizers of the Yum Food Fest have partnered with the FIND Food Bank to help combat hunger in the Hi-Desert and Coachella Valley area. The event has a virtual food drive that will help feed local children. FIND distributes food to more than 14 million people each year and more than 150,000 individuals per month. The organization asks for money instead of canned food because it can provide four full meals to people for the cost of one can.
The food festival and night market will be held on Saturday, October 14 from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm and Sunday, October 15 from noon to 8:00 pm. Tickets to the fest will cost $8, though people can buy them in advance for $5. Children under five do not need to pay to enter the festival.
