Palm Desert art council to teach intensive course

The Artists Council will be organizing a class in February at the Artists Center at the Galen in Palm Desert.

Art Survival with Cybele Rowe is a two-day lesson where students will learn how to make money as an artist while maintaining their mental health. The course will teach attendees about creating a personal biography, staying happy while in the studio, and finding the right space for reaching potential collectors. Participants are asked to bring paper, colored pencils, and markers to the course. A large, blank sketchbook should also be brought for the lesson.

Cybele Rowe is a talented sculptor who has been an artist for over 30 years. She was born in Australia and has lived in New York City and Los Angeles. Her works have been shown at the American Museum of Ceramic Art in China. Rowe is currently represented by the Melissa Morgan Gallery. She is the creator of the two-day program and based it on her college course. Professional artists like this may give Business Cards to people who are interested in purchasing their works.

The intensive art class will be held on Saturday, February 12th and Sunday, February 13th from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Members of the Artists Council can pay $575 to join the program. Nonmembers must pay $675, and students can enter the course for $290.
