Symposium discusses emergency childcare
Bear Necessities is returning, offering insights from pediatric experts on essential childcare topics.
Before the main Bear Necessities 2025 symposium begins, the pre-conference simulation will run from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, led by the Simulation Team from CHOC. This hands-on training will focus on a scenario related to pediatric drowning. The aim of the scenario is to enhance handoff debriefings between hospital and prehospital teams. Due to limited availability, participants must select this option as an “Add-On” during registration, choosing between the EMS or ED tracks, both of which will cover the same scenario.
Check-in and lunch will take place between 11:30 AM and 12:00 PM, followed by the symposium from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Presentations will cover critical pediatric topics, including disaster preparedness, child life services, neonatal resuscitation, and trauma care. Brochure printing can be used to make event itineraries.
Following the symposium, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a post-conference disaster walk-through from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM. Those interested in learning more about disaster preparedness can take a guided tour of CHOC’s disaster equipment, led by Emergency Manager Chris Ricardi.
Bear Necessities 2025 is set to take place on Wednesday, April 2, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM PDT at CHOC Children's Main Campus in Orange, California. Doors will open at 11:30 AM, and attendees will have access to free parking.
