Orange venue to educate youngsters on important skills

In a few weeks, young kids in the Orange area will have an exciting chance to learn essential skills early in life.

The Orange Public Library & History Center’s Main Branch will be hosting an experience in its Community Room for children to both express their creativity and learn about the practice of budgeting. The event is available to children between the ages of three and six.

Play Money - Inventor’s Workshop will see participants put together a unique box of materials to create their own invention. Play money will be handed out to use for the “purchase” of the items. Each will have different values assigned to them. Kids will have to pick and choose pieces that both fit what they want to make, and the amount of funds they have.

Learning to budget money is a skill that can benefit many people as they grow up and begin to earn their own income. This activity will give kids access to this helpful knowledge at a younger than typical age. Flyer printing promotes many small and community-run activities like this.

There is no fee for attending the event, so anyone can bring their kids by to join in on the fun. The activities will be going on from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm on Tuesday, August 15.
