Orange to host Hollywood camp for kids

Orange is hosting a camp about special effects, also known as movie magic, in Hollywood films in late July.

This unique camp will teach children about the special effects used in their favorite movies and TV shows, as well as how to achieve them. The projects they make will be available to view, as well as download to be watched again later.

Skills they will learn include computer-generated imagery (CGI), greenscreen, forced perspective, and the ability to make characters both appear and disappear. They will also find out how to use HD cameras, editing, and some smart devices. After they spend some time learning these techniques, the kids will star in their own movie. It is likely they will be able to come up with their own logo design or incorporate a graphic design into the project. There will be a $30 material fee, which can be paid at the class.

The camp is open to kids aged 7 to 13. There are a limited number of spots available for this event. It will cost a fee of $150 per person for the four days. This will take place July 26 through July 29, which is Monday through Thursday. Each day will last from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm. The camp is located at Santiago Canyon College, and is hosted by Movies By Kids.
